Last month we were saddened to hear about the removal of squash courts at Bath Sports & Leisure Centre was a major blow for the sport to make way for more profitable activities. From a business perspective, this was poor strategic management given 100 local squash players who play at the centre.
Several weeks into the New Year, once again the future of junior squash participation is under threat with news of potential removal of squash courts at a local leisure centre, a volunteer-run squash club, and a well established hotel with championship level squash courts.
